Bomdila view point, located near the monastery in Bomdila in which state is Arunachal Pradesh, offers sweeping panoramic views of the eastern Himalayan ranges across the Bomdila district. On clear winter mornings, towering peaks such as Gori Chen at 6,858 metres, Kangto at 7,042 metres, Nyegyi Kangsang, and several other 6,000 metre giants rise sharply against the northern skyline. The town itself stands at 2,530 metres, and the cool Bomdila temperature makes it an ideal acclimatisation halt before covering the Bomdila to Tawang distance toward higher altitudes like Tawang at 3,048 metres and the dramatic Sela Pass, sometimes loosely referred to by travellers as Bomdila pass. The ridge provides a natural balcony where members of the local Bomdila tribe and visitors alike gather to admire the mountain scenery.

What makes this place special

On especially clear mornings, the 6,858 metre Gori Chen, one of the tallest peaks in the eastern Himalayas, appears prominently on the horizon with striking clarity.
