Maximize your tiger sightings this summer! Discover India's top hotspots for May-June 2026, from Bandhavgarh to Tadoba. Plan your safari adventure now!

Choosing stays near wildlife zones in Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh lets you wake to the alarm calls of the jungle. From luxury tents to eco-lodges, these retreats often sit on the edge of tiger corridors, prioritizing conservation and local employment. By staying here, you support the protection of critical habitats while enjoying night safaris or birdwatching right from your deck, ensuring your journey leaves a positive footprint.
The best time to visit Ranthambore National Park is from October to June. While wildlife can be seen throughout the season, March to June is particularly rewarding for tiger sightings as animals gather around lakes, waterholes, and other permanent water sources. The cooler months from October to February offer pleasant weather, lush landscapes, and excellent birdwatching opportunities. The park remains closed from July to September during the monsoon season.
Safari permits can be booked online through the official Rajasthan Forest Department and authorized booking platforms. Visitors can choose between a Gypsy (6-seater open jeep) and a Canter (20-seater open vehicle). Morning and afternoon safari sessions operate daily during the season. Since permits for popular zones sell out quickly, it is highly recommended to book 60-90 days in advance, especially during weekends, holidays, and peak travel months.
For the best wildlife experience, it is recommended to take at least 3 to 4 safaris across different zones. Ranthambore is divided into multiple safari zones, each offering unique landscapes and wildlife habitats. Since animal movements vary daily, multiple safaris significantly improve the chances of encountering tigers and other wildlife. Many experienced wildlife photographers spend several days exploring different zones.
Tiger sightings can never be guaranteed in any national park, as wildlife moves freely in its natural habitat. However, Ranthambore is widely regarded as one of India's most reliable tiger reserves, thanks to its healthy tiger population and relatively open terrain. Even when tigers are not seen, visitors often encounter leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, deer, langurs, and a rich variety of birdlife.
Most visitors stay in Sawai Madhopur, the gateway town to Ranthambore National Park. Accommodation options range from budget hotels and comfortable safari lodges to luxurious jungle resorts. Staying near the park entrance helps reduce travel time for early morning safaris. Whether you're seeking a wildlife-focused retreat or a luxury nature escape, there are accommodations suitable for every travel style and budget.
