Must-visit places and experiences

The fort basically dominates the whole city. That honey-colored wall drops down the hill like it’s guarding Gwalior’s entire mood, and inside it’s a proper mix of palaces, temples, and viewpoints.

These temples make Gwalior feel like a living museum. You get detailed stone work, that blue-tiled look people talk about, and an “old-world” calm even when the city below is chaotic.

This is the “Gwalior beyond the fort” day. You get the city’s music legacy through Tansen, and then switch to full royal lifestyle mode with Scindia-era palace rooms that feel like they were built to impress.

Well, to be honest, it is really large. You'll probably have a bit of walking to do, and some areas have quite steep stairs. One little hint: if you don't feel like walking you can always get on the shuttles that operate between different sections. By the way, do visit the place early as at noon the sun will make those stone paths very hot.
Definitely, if that is your kind of thing. It's a bit kitschy in a good way if you imagine dramatic voiceovers and colorful spotlights but watching the fort getting illuminated after dark is like a dream. Good idea to finish the day with.
Just dress nicely cover shoulders and knees. It's better to always keep a scarf with you. And yes, in some parts, you will be barefoot, so it is better not to wear fancy socks.
