Kufri

Kufri is a small hill settlement, with the Shimla to Kufri distance being just 16 kilometres. At 2,720 metres, it is known for snow during Kufri in winter and horse rides in summer. The town itself is a strip of shops and food stalls, with few large Kufri hotels. The main draws are in the Kufri valley on the ridge above: the Himalayan Nature Park, Mahasu Peak, and India's oldest ski slope, which operates when the Kufri temperature drops. Most visit Kufri as a day trip from Shimla; the main ridge is busy, while the nature park is quieter.
