Valley of Flowers

The Valley of Flowers trek begins at Govindghat, covering 14 km to Ghangaria, followed by a gentle 4 km walk into the valley floor. The trail ascends along the Pushpawati river, winding through dense forest, crossing glacial bridges, and passing over 40 small cascades, making it one of the most scenic Himalayan walks. Inside the Valley of Flowers National Park, a riverside path stretches for nearly 8 km, with expansive flowering meadows on both sides, shallow, wide, and breathtaking during peak bloom.

Perched at 4,329 meters, Hemkund Sahib is the highest Sikh gurudwara in the world, revered as the meditation site of Guru Gobind Singh in a previous life. A serene glacial lake lies beside the shrine, encircled by seven snow-clad peaks, creating one of the most striking high-altitude settings in the Himalayas. Often combined with a Valley of Flowers trip, both routes share the base at Ghangaria. The 6-km climb from Ghangaria is steep but rewarding, and a ritual dip in the icy lake before entering the gurudwara is an integral part of the pilgrimage.
