The Victoria Memorial is a crown jewel of Kolkata tourism, a white marble edifice in Indo-Saracenic style. Commissioned as a memorial to Queen Victoria, it is one of the top attractions in Kolkata, housing Mughal miniatures and Raj-era memorabilia. October to March is ideal. October brings Durga Puja — the city's biggest festival. November to February has pleasant weather around 15-25°C. Summers (April-June) are extremely hot and humid. Monsoon (July-September) brings heavy rain.
