Auli

Gurson Bugyal is a high-altitude alpine meadow at 3,056 metres, a gentle 3-kilometre trek from the top of the Auli ridge through mixed oak, conifer, and rhododendron forest, making it one of the most scenic places to visit in Auli. The bugyal itself is a broad grass-covered plateau with a 360-degree view of the Garhwal snow peaks, where Nanda Devi and Kamet dominate the skyline and the Hathi Ghoda range runs along the opposite ridge. The wildflowers in May and June add to its appeal, making it one of the top attractions in Auli.

The 4.1 kilometers long Joshimath–Auli ropeway is among the longest cable car systems in Asia, connecting the pilgrimage town of Joshimath at 1,875 meters with Auli at 3,010 meters. The 20-minute ride climbs over 10 supporting towers, offering panoramic views that define Auli sightseeing, including Nanda Devi, Kamet, and Mana Peak. Built by GMVN in 1994, it remains a vital link for Auli tourism, especially when roads close due to snow.
