Yercaud Lake, often called Emerald Lake, is the lively heart of the Yercaud hill station. Surrounded by trees, gardens, and small local stalls, the lake creates a relaxed atmosphere that perfectly matches the slow pace of Yercaud tourism. Boating is the main activity here, with pedal and rowing boats offering peaceful views of the surrounding hills and greenery. Built during the British era, the lake today feels like a social hub where families, couples, and travelers gather during evenings. Nearby stalls selling homemade chocolates, spices, and fresh coffee add to the local charm. Right beside the lake is Anna Park, a well-maintained garden filled with colorful flowers, shaded walking paths, and seasonal displays. Together, Yercaud Lake and Anna Park remain among the top Yercaud attractions for a peaceful weekend getaway.

Yercaud’s Pagoda Point, located about 3 km east of town, is one of the most popular viewpoints for Yercaud sightseeing. The ridge is marked by four stacked stone structures resembling pagodas, believed to have been set up during the British era to demarcate old tribal boundaries. From here, wide views stretch across the Salem plains all the way to the distant Kalvarayan Hills, making it a key stop in most Yercaud travel guide routes. Nearby lies the Shevaroy Temple, situated at around 1,623 meters, the highest point in the region and often listed among the top attractions in Yercaud. Dedicated to Servarayan and Kaveri Amman, the small shrine is reached through a narrow cave passage, adding a spiritual and slightly adventurous touch to a Yercaud trip.

Lady’s Seat is a natural stone bench on the western edge of Yercaud, where a British officer’s wife is said to have spent her afternoons overlooking the Salem plains. A coin-operated telescope now lets visitors spot the Mettur Dam, about 50 kilometres away. Nearby viewpoints like Gent’s Seat and Children’s Seat complete the scenic ridge. Close by, Bear’s Cave, a short, torch-lit lava tube once recorded as shelter for sloth bears adds a touch of history to Yercaud sightseeing.
