The Dilwara Temples in Mount Abu are five white marble Jain temples built between the 11th and 13th centuries and are considered among the finest examples of marble carving in the world. The main temples, Vimal Vasahi (1031 CE) and Luna Vasahi (1230 CE), are said to have taken 1,200 artisans 14 years and 15 years respectively to complete, making them a major highlight of Mount Abu tourism and Mount Abu sightseeing. The marble was carried from the Arasoori Hills, about 50 km away, and the carvings are so intricate that parts appear almost translucent, drawing visitors on every Mount Abu trip.
