Mansa Devi Temple sits on Bilwa Parvat, the hill overlooking the city, reached by a 500-metre cable car from the base of the hill. The temple is one of five Shakti Peethas in the region and is dedicated to the goddess who fulfils wishes (mansa means 'desire'). Pilgrims tie sacred threads at a tree inside the temple courtyard to mark their wish; once granted, they return to untie it.

What makes this place special

A short but dramatic cable car climb to Mansa Devi Temple over Haridwar, giving the best aerial view of the city’s layout and the Ganga curving through it, making it one of the top things to do in Haridwar and a highlight of Haridwar sightseeing and Haridwar tourism.
