Kamru Fort, 2 kilometres uphill from Sangla, was the original seat of the Bushahr kingdom before it was shifted to Rampur. It comprises of a five-story wooden tower, the fort houses images of Kamakhya Devi brought from Assam and the original Badrinath idol that pre-dates the more famous shrine in Uttarakhand. Visitors must wear a traditional Kinnauri cap and scarf provided at the entrance.
