About

One of the most exciting things to do in Dudhwa National Park is exploring its unique Terai landscape through guided wildlife safaris. Unlike the dry forests of central India, the park’s ecosystem is made up of dense sal forests, tall grasslands, marshes, and swampy wetlands that create a rich habitat for a wide variety of wildlife. Among the top attractions in Dudhwa National Park are its tigers, one-horned rhinoceroses, swamp deer, and barasingha. The reserve is home to around 90 tigers and more than 70 rhinos, making it one of the few places in India where visitors can spot both species in the same protected landscape, alongside Kaziranga National Park. Rhino sightings are generally more reliable than tiger sightings, especially in the Kishanpur buffer zone, which is known for productive safari experiences. Birdwatchers who visit Dudhwa National Park can also enjoy sightings of over 400 bird species, making safaris rewarding for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers alike. The park’s rich biodiversity ensures that every safari offers something different. Safaris in the reserve are operated by the Forest Department and often include stays at traditional Forest Rest Houses located inside the park.
