Built in 1910 and completed in 1926, the Bhandardara dam is Asia's oldest major stone gravity dam, crossing the Pravara river near Bhandardara village. The reservoir behind it, Bhandardara lake, extends 10 kilometres through the forested Bhandardara valley. A spillway creates a stunning Bhandardara waterfall during overflow season. Paddle boats and motor boats operate during non-monsoon months, perfect for visitors exploring Bhandardara, enjoying lakeside Bhandardara camping, or relaxing at a cozy Bhandardara resort.
