Chandratal, or 'moon lake', is a crescent-shaped alpine lake at 4,300 metres in the upper Chandra valley of Spiti. The water shifts through blues and turquoise through the day, reflecting a low Spiti valley temperature. Camping is restricted, but day visits to the shore are allowed, making it a highlight of any Spiti valley trip.
