Doddabetta Peak
About
At 2,637 metres, Doddabetta is the highest peak in the Nilgiris and the fourth highest in South India, making it one of the top attractions in Nilgiris. A short drive from Ooty leads to a parking area, from where a paved path climbs gently to the summit. On clear mornings, the view takes in the entire Nilgiri plateau, the Mysore plains to the north, and the Coimbatore district to the south. A Tourism Department telescope house at the top lets you zoom into tea estates and distant peaks, making one of the best places to visit in Nilgiris.
