Jyotisar, 5 kilometres from central Kurukshetra, marks the exact spot where Lord Krishna delivered the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna before the Mahabharata war. When checking Kurukshetra in which state it resides, visitors find this Kurukshetra land steeped in Kurukshetra history. The ancient banyan, believed to be a direct descendant of the original tree, still stands surrounded by a small temple, sacred tank, and marble depictions of the 18 chapters. An evening sound and light show narrates the story.
