Solomon’s Temple is a massive white stone church built on the southern edge of Aizawl from 1996 onward, and today stands among the top attractions in Aizawl. As one of the largest modern churches in India, the landmark dominates the skyline and is visible from many parts of this dramatic Aizawl hill city. The church combines modernist architecture with strong Christian symbolism, reflecting the deep-rooted faith that shapes Aizawl culture, with nearly 87% of Mizoram’s population identifying as Christian. The large open plaza surrounding the complex has also become a popular evening gathering place for locals and visitors enjoying Aizawl sightseeing. While some sections are still under construction, the main sanctuary has been operational for years and remains an important stop on many Aizawl tour packages.
