What to expect

Laotanghu Art Village is a village full of artistic atmosphere and cultural heritage located in Xuejia District, Tainan City, Taiwan Province. Laotanghu Art Village was promoted by Taiwanese painter Kuang Yi (Kuang Jinfu) to preserve cultural relics. Since 1995, he felt sorry for seeing old houses being demolished, so he collected materials from more than 100 old houses and rebuilt Laotanghu Art Village. It preserves Taiwan's cultural relics within 300 years and is defined by scholars as "creative art". It combines elements such as dilapidated, weathered, and simple, showing a unique artistic style. In the art village, the ancient large fish ponds and abandoned building materials together form a unique landscape, as if walking into the scene of a martial arts movie. These abandoned building materials are not abandoned, but are cleverly used in the artistic creation of the village, presenting an environmentally friendly and interesting cultural landscape. The art village gathers finger painters from all over the world. They create art on these abandoned building materials, making the whole village full of artistic atmosphere. In addition, the Art Village also provides a costume rental service. Visitors can walk through the village in ancient costumes and experience the feeling of traveling through time and space. Visitors can not only appreciate the unique artistic environment in the Laotanghu Art Village, but also experience traditional Taiwanese culture. For example, the God of Wealth Temple, as an important attraction in the village, allows visitors to feel the profound foundation of Taiwan's traditional beliefs. The Art Village is backed by Laotang Lake, and the lake and mountains are beautiful. Visitors can choose to take a boat tour of the lake and enjoy the beauty of the Art Village.
