Tiffin Top, also called Dorothy's Seat after a British artist who painted here, is a 2,290-metre viewpoint reached by a gentle 4-kilometre horse ride or trek from the Mall. Beyond Tiffin Top the trail continues to Land's End, a dramatic 2,118-metre cliff edge overlooking Khurpatal Lake and the Kumaon foothills. The two together make the best half-day walk in Nainital.

What makes this place special

A stone memorial bench where the artist Dorothy Kellett once painted — now the prime photo spot looking down onto Naini Lake far below.

A sheer drop of several hundred metres opens onto the Khurpatal valley and the plains beyond — one of Kumaon's most dramatic, least-protected viewpoints.

The trail between points runs through old-growth oak and rhododendron forest that flowers bright red in March.
