Mitre Peak is the defining landmark of Milford Sound, rising a staggering 1,692 meters directly out of the ocean floor. Its distinctive, razor-sharp shape resembles a bishop’s mitre (hat). The peak serves as a dramatic backdrop to every cruise and is one of the most photographed natural structures in the Southern Hemisphere.
