St. Aloysius Chapel
About
Built in 1885, St. Aloysius Chapel in Mangalore is often called the Sistine Chapel of the East. The chapel's walls and ceilings are entirely covered with stunning frescoes painted by Italian Jesuit artist Antonio Moscheni, depicting scenes from the life of St. Aloysius Gonzaga. The artwork spans over 3,000 square feet and took two years to complete.
