The Church of Saint Lazarus is a magnificent late ninth-century Byzantine stone church built over the second tomb of Lazarus of Bethany. According to Christian tradition, Lazarus came to Cyprus after his resurrection by Jesus and served as the first bishop of Kition. The church features an exquisite, gold-gilded iconostasis and ancient stone architecture.
