Located a short drive from central Kandy, the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya spread across nearly 150 acres of manicured lawns, towering palms, and exotic plant collections. Originally reserved for Kandyan royalty, the gardens were later expanded by the British. Wide avenues lined with royal palm trees create dramatic perspectives, while orchid houses display delicate blooms in vibrant colors. The giant bamboo groves and cannonball trees add variety and scale. It is spacious, calm, and ideal for a slow afternoon.
