Vijaynagar Beach (Beach No. 5)
About
Vijaynagar Beach, stretching along the eastern coast of the island, is a peaceful, rocky, and incredibly tranquil stretch of shoreline that offers a quiet contrast to the busy Radhanagar Beach. Shaded by a continuous canopy of majestic, broad-leafed Mahua trees, the beach is famous for its shallow, calm waters and its spectacular, early morning sunrises. At low tide, the sea recedes hundreds of meters, revealing a fascinating rocky seabed filled with small tide pools, corals, and shells.

Things to Know
- •This beach is highly tidal; during low tide, the water is too shallow and rocky for swimming, but it is ideal for walking and wading.
- •It is home to many of the island's best beachfront eco-resorts, offering easy access to cozy garden cafes and restaurants.
- •The sand is mixed with natural coral fragments and small rocks, so wearing light beach sandals or water shoes is recommended.
