The Main Tower is the only Frankfurt skyscraper open to the public, a 200 metre, 56 storey office tower owned by Helaba bank, with two open air observation decks at the very top, making it a standout highlight of Frankfurt tourism and Frankfurt sightseeing. Completed in 1999, the cylindrical tower is clad in blue and silver glass and was part of Frankfurt’s modern skyline redevelopment. The rooftop platforms, protected by chest high parapet walls and mesh, offer a full 360 degree panorama over the financial district, the Main River, Frankfurt Cathedral, and on clear days the Taunus Mountains about 30 km to the north, making it one of the top places to visit in Frankfurt. Allow one to two hours including elevator wait time as part of a Frankfurt trip.

What makes this place special

The deck looking over the Main River, the Sachsenhausen rooftops, and the Museumsufer riverside. Best for sunset photos; evening lights pick out the city's signature towers.

The fine dining restaurant one floor below the observation deck at the Main Tower requires a separate booking, but a window table offers a superior dinner experience with panoramic city views included, making it a refined highlight of Frankfurt sightseeing.
