The structure stands dignified yet open, surrounded by landscaped gardens and wide pathways. Beneath the hall sits a small museum detailing Sri Lanka’s journey to independence. At the front, a statue of D. S. Senanayake, the country’s first Prime Minister, anchors the space historically. Unlike crowded city landmarks, Independence Square feels calm and reflective. Early mornings bring joggers and cyclists, while evenings attract families and students enjoying the open space.
