Bali

Don’t go to Bali only for beach clubs, cafés, and Instagram spots because the island has a much deeper side that many people completely miss. Bali feels deeply spiritual in everyday life. I kept noticing small flower offerings placed outside homes and shops every morning, the smell of incense drifting through the streets, and quiet temple ceremonies happening naturally in villages. And honestly, don’t stay only around Seminyak and Canggu for trendy cafés, nightlife, and shopping. Places like Sidemen, Munduk, and parts of North Bali felt greener, calmer, and far more connected to nature and local life. Driving through rice fields, jungle roads, mountain villages, and hidden waterfalls became some of my favorite memories from the trip. Bali is known for its rice terraces, ancient temples, volcanic mountains, jungle waterfalls, surfing spots, and peaceful tropical atmosphere. You can start the day with a sunrise trek on Mount Batur, spend the afternoon exploring waterfalls or relaxing by the beach, and end the evening watching the sunset beside a cliffside temple overlooking the ocean. Adventure lovers honestly have plenty to do here. Surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, rafting, volcano trekking, ATV rides, and waterfall hikes quickly become part of the experience. I also ended up loving local Balinese food far more than I expected. Small roadside warungs serving nasi campur, satay, and traditional Indonesian dishes felt far more memorable than most trendy cafés.

FAQs about Bali

Yes, Indian travellers visiting Bali can get a Visa on Arrival (B1), making Bali travel simple and accessible. The visa costs IDR 500,000 (around ₹2,800), is valid for 30 days, and can be extended once. This ease of entry is one of the reasons Bali tourism remains popular for short international trips.

Where you stay depends on your Bali trip style. Ubud is ideal for culture, jungle settings, and a quieter atmosphere, often highlighted in every Bali travel guide. Seminyak and Canggu are best for beach clubs, cafes, and nightlife. Sanur offers a more relaxed and less crowded coastal stay, while Uluwatu is known for surfing and dramatic clifftop sunsets. For island experiences, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida are among the most popular places to visit in Bali.

Bali is considered one of the more affordable international destinations, making it attractive for budget-friendly holidays. On average, ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 per day is enough for a comfortable mid-range experience, covering accommodation, food, and local travel. This affordability is a major reason why Bali tourism appeals to a wide range of travellers.
